LyttelTON Regatta.

LYTTELTON/ January 2. The regatta yesterday was a great success. The water was too rough for the outrigger events, but there was a' grand sailing breeez. The stump and outrigger races were rowed inside the mole*. The Rainbow, the Auckland yacht, won the championship easily, beating the Wai. tangi (Wellington), Yvonne and Kiaora (Lyttelton). m The popular sports were well attended. In the swimming sporte M. _E. Champion (of Wellington) won the half, mile , New 'Zealand amateur championship ; in, liming X7secs, breaking the standard by lmin 13secs.
