WELLINGTON, April 19. The Trades and Labor Conference -- will endeavour to bring about a better understanding between the labor organisations in Wellington. The Conference agreed to urge that the Electoral Act be amended in the direction of giving equal represent*tion aocbrding to population to towns, andl to the country. The Government are 1 to be asked to reiritroduce the restrictions of usury bill. It wa« resolved that it be a recommendation to the Government and to the industrial department of labor to pass a Bill providing for the compulsory provision of labor statistics to the department by employers. Mr John Plimmer (senior) has donated £105 to the fifth contingent committee, raising! his total contribution to the patriotic fund to £556.
