AUCKLAND, September 28

A LIVELY MEETING.

The meeting convened for last night to select a Labor candidate for the city proved one of the rowdiest gatherings held in Auckland for some time. The Mayor, Mr Goldie, presided, and only one candidate, Mr Arthur Rosser, addressed the audience. The meeting broke up in confusion, without any definite understanding being arrived at, the Mayor leaving the chair.
