CRICKET.
THAMES CRICKET ASSOCIATION
A -meeting of the Managing Committee of the Cricket Association was held last evening, when there were present -.—Messrs Adams (Chairman), Donovan, Derecourt, Rudkin, Towers, Muir, and Carter.—lt was resolved that the unfinished match, Tararu v. Eovers, be not completed next Saturday, and that it be held over until the new year.—A protest from the Turua Club, claiming that the match Turua v. Tararu juniors, as played last Saturday, be not awarded to Tararu, and that it be declared unfinished, was read, and after considerable discussion it was resolved that the protest be not entertained, it being contrary to the Association's rules and the laws of cricket. It was also decided to return the protest fee.—The Secretary reported that several players had gained admission to the ground last Saturday without having tickets.- On the ■ motion' of Mr Towers, fines; were imposed on the clubs as follows :— Tararu 2s, School of Mines Is 6d, Foundry Is 9d, Hovers 6d, and Turua 3d.—lt was also reported that rule 32 was not being strictly attended to, and it was resolved that another warning be given to players,and that for the future the rule be striotly carried out.— On the motion of Mr Rudkin, the Secretary was instructed to write and endeavour to arrange •• rep " matches with Auckland teams.—The fancy costume match not having met with the desired support, it was resolved that the following teams meet one another to-morrow: —Foundry and Tararu v. Rover and School of Mines. The teams are as follows: Foundry and Tararu: Rudkin, Darrow, Carter, Buchan (2), Day, J. Kearney, Derecourt, R. McGregor, Jordan, Davis, and Chester. Rover and School of
Mineß: Derecourt, Adams, Pratt, Laag (2), Waite, F. Billing, Graham, Plavell, Steevens, Kelly, and Eowe. —Two other teams have been picked 7to play against one another. Teams: —"A": Towers,D Kearney, Gillies, Eyan, Hall, P. Watson, Akerp, Newman, Morgan, Billing, A. Robinson, and Donovan. "B": Carter (2), Newdick, Gordon. Coutts, Torrene, Lawson, Baker, Lowe, 0. Robinson, Aitken, and Gibson.—Three pitches will be prepared, and any other players wishing to have a game will have every opportunity to do so.—The Secretaries of Clubs are asked to take out the necessary material for the games. - The usual vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting,
