Wellington, July 5. In the Legislative Council this afternoon leave ot absence was granted to the Hon. Twomey (6 days).

A Committee was set up to enquire into certain anomalies in the Lunatics Act.

The second reading-of the Legislative Council Reform Bill was made the order of the day for Friday, and Companies Winding-up and Juries Act Amendment Bills tor the next day. The Hon. W. C. Walker moved the second reading of the Fisheries Conservation Act Amendment and Animals Protection Bills, and moved to remit to Committee.
