The Dervish force under Mahmud comprises 2,000 cavalry, 8,000 rifles, with seven cannon. The remainder of the enemy- consists of swordsnaeu and spearmen. Brigadier-General Lewis' Brigade has advanced upon Abadar.
The Dervishes are concentrating upon Umdebia. In the attack upon the Dervish horsemen the Egyptian cavalry displayed steadiness and dash.
