Another Labor Demand.
PAINTERS' CLAIMS,

Auckland, February 1, A dispute had arisen between the painters and their employers. The Unionists ask that the apprentices* minimum wage be Is Id per hour, and 144 hours constitute a working week; that apprentices be one to every four journeymen; overtime to be time and a quarter; country work to be Is 2£d per hour, travelling expenses to be paid by the employer. It is also proposed that v Friday be pay day. A meeting of employers will be convened to consider the demands.
