His Honor Mr Justice Connolly intimated to-day that he would deliver judgment in the Aitken's Freehold mining case next Monday morning. The charges agairist Edwin G. Lowe of stealing sums of money from the Cadnran Companjat Coromandel were called on again to-day. No evidence for the prosecution being offered, the cases were dismissed.

At the Supreme Court to-day probate was granted to the executors in the wills of Allan Johnston and Mark Diamond (deceased). At the Police Court to-day Eobert Jarnieson was sentenced to two months' imprisonment with hard labour for assaulting his wife on the 24th inst. Mr Apirana Turupa Hgata, 8.A., L.L.8., was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court today. Mr Cooper, who applied for admission to the Bar on Mr Ngata's behalf, said this was the first Maori who had yet qualified as a barrister and solicitor. Mr Ngata is about 23 years of age, and was an old student of Te Aute College.

A young man named Joseph Butler was charged that on or about 24th February last he did unlawfully carnally know Daisy A. Berryman, a girl between the ages of 12 and 16 years. — Mr Cotter appeared for accused and pleaded not guilty.—The mother of the child went into the box, and said she was villipg to withdraw the charge if the girl was committed away. Mr Cotter said his client had nothing to do with any committal. The present proceedings were against defendant. —Mr Cotter called John Butler, father of the accused.—Witness said he knew what his son was charged with. He knew nothing dt all about it.—Mr Cotter said that his instructions were that it was simply a case of blackmail. —The Bench dismissed the information.
