Discovery of a Skeleton
The police wre infor-ued liwt eveuin that a young ir.au named Ernest Sim*, iv the employ of Mr C. Short, had found a human skeleton in a paddock at Parawai. Enquiries were made and it was found that Sims was commissioned with auother stable employee to bury the body of a horse in the paddock known as " Greenslade's," near Mr J. A. Miller's residence, leased by Mr Short, and iv carrying out this work and when the earth had been removed to a depth of nearly three feet they came across the bones, which ou examination were seen to form a complete skeleton. The body hed been placed flatly on its back and to all ape; peu ranees iutermeut took place many years <igo. It is thought the remains are those of a Maori.
