VERDICT OF GUILTY.
THE CONVICT'S EEMABKABLE
SPEECH,
SENTENCE OF DEATH,
March 24
The jury in the Petone murder case returned, shortly after 11 o'clock, a verdict of guilty. When asked Jif he had anything to say, Bosher, who appeared quite calm, said that before he wa3 arrested several witnesses had come to him-and said that if the police interfered with him they would see him through, but they had not kept their word, and he left them to their consciences.
The sentence of death was then pronounced in the usual way. ' The court was crowded despite the late hour.
