IN Pursuance of "The Electoral Act. 1893," " The Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act, 1893," and their amendment*! T, FREDERICK DUNCAN FERGUSSON, Returning Officer for the Licensing District of Ohinemuri, do hereby give notice that aS ELECTION will be held for the return of FIVE qualified persons to serve m Mem* bers of the Licensing Committee for tba I said District; and that the latest day for receiving nominations will be WEDNES- | DAY, the 24th day of March, 1897; and that the POLL, if necessary, will be taken at the several polling places of the said District on WEDNESDAY, the thirty-fat day of March, 1897. " Every person desirous of becoming a Candidate must be qualified under Section Six of " The Alcoholic Liquors Sal* Control Act, 1893," and must be nominated by not less than two Electors of'the^Baid District by a Nomination Paper as prescribed by Pection Seventy-five of " The Electoral Act, 1893," as amended by Section Fifteen of "The Electoral Act Amendment Act, 1896," delivered to the Beturning Officer not later than five o'clock in the afternoon f WEDNESDAY, the twenty-fourth day f March, 1897; and must signify to the Returning Officer his consent to the Nomination ; and the said Candidate, or some person on his behalf, must Deposit, at the same time, with the Returning Officer, the sum of TEN POUNDS in accordance with Section Seventy-seven of "The Electoral Act, 18"3."
