Brutal Assault and Robbery.
Napikb, March 22. A garrotting case occurred late on Saturday night. Mr James McIntosb, of Douglas station, was brutally assaulted in Munroe street, and robbed of £7. Half an hour after receiving information of the assault Detective Chrystal arrested two men named Robinson and Fitzgerald at the Stgir Hotel on the charge. An examination of their clothes revealed traces of fresh blood, and one of the accused had some money corresponding with the amount stolen. Accused were biought up at the Court this morning, and remanded for eight days. ■ • - -■
