Sensational Murder Case.

A CONCERT SINGER SENTENCED TO DEATH.

A sensational murder trial lias juat concluded resulting in Miss Catherine Kempshall, a London concert singer being sentenced to death for shooting Edgar Holland, a Liverpool merchant. Kempshall sued Holland for a brench of promise of marriage, claiming ten thousand pounds damages Subsequently, according to Kempshall, she in 1895 twice unsuccessfully ;sued Holland. While denying that she had a claim either-morally or legally upon him he promised in an act of kindness to send her money, but failing to keep hta^rffeged promise Kempshall in Novfmber last Visited Holland's office at Isfverpool armed with a revolver and dagper. Angered by the demand made by Holland that before he would do anything for her she must sign a document abandoning all claims against lum, Kempshall fired three shots at him, all of which took effect in his chest, Holland lingered eleven days before he died.
