MATA BEEFS.
The advance of the crosscut to iutorsect tho new lode is being energetically pushed ahead, and the manager anticipates intersecting it in a few more fet t of driving. The country so far passol through is apparently of a good kindly description.
WHANGAMATA KING.
The low level crosscut continues to penetrate a splendid channel of country, and the manager expects to meet with the reef in about 50ft of ftrthor driving.
lONA (Great Barrier.)
The large tody of ore through which the crosscut has been penetrating in this mine h^at Lint been intersected, and proves a Me ol very great uiaguitudo, ra^uving 48it 6in from Avail to wall. Tho quartz throughout looks woll, and free gold can be soon through it. Driving towards the north-west upon the wall ?f the lode has been commenced for the purpose of proving the extent of the rich ore. It is also the intention to open _ it up at a deeper level to ascertain its auriferous character in the deeper regions.
