Election Expenses.

Wellington, March 16. Thfl return of the expenses of candidates at the Wellington election are: —Hutchison, £48; Stout, d 612 4; Fisher, £37; Atkinson, £59; Menteath, £151; P«well, £88. The other three have not filed their returns, and as the statutory ninety days ha?e elapsed are liable to a fine of £20. The amount allowed by the Act is £200. Mr Hutchison received £55 in contributions, and consequently he actually makes a profit of £7 out, of his election. Mr Atkinson also received help, which leaves him a balance of 15s Id. Messrs Fisher and Wilson's expenses were paid, according to the former's return "by the League, and Mr Wilson's will, therefore, be the same as Mr Fisher's, as they ran together.
