The Late W. H. Taipari.

We have been requested to announce that the funeral of the late Chief Taipari will take place at 2 o'clock on Sunday next. As deceased was an old Volunteer officer, the Hon. Defence Minister has been communicated with in the hope that a military funeral may be accorded to him.

Owing to the unexpected arrival of. several hundred natives from inland' yesterday, Taipari's peoplo were quite unable to pay that respect to the European friends who visited them in the afternoon that they otherwise would have done. They now particularly request that all those Europeans who desire to do so will visit them at tho Eununga House on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, when they will be received with befitting ceremony.
