Naval Artillery.
The first quartei'a shooting for the District Belt took place on Saturday at the Parawai range, and resulted in Gunner D. Henderson securing the coveted position by virtue of making the greatest score at the longest range. The following are the scores :—

Shepherd, Gunners D. Henderson, P. Weir, W. Grundy, W. Bose, W. Dalton, H. Thompson, B. Lukey, and Curtis; emergencies, Gunner W. Sutcliffe, T. Schofield, W. Gorby, G. Morrison. This team is subject to alteration after practice next Saturday.
