GREEK FLEET RETIRES.

DEMAND FOR A CRETAN PLEBISCITE

The Greek fleet has virtually withdrawn from Crete.

. The Greek Government have revised their demands with regard to Crete. They have agreed to the Greek military acting under the officers of the Powers, but require that a plebiscite of the Cretans be taken, to end in three months, to determine the form of Government to be established. The Government also demand that the Powers compel Turkey to withdraw from Crete and from the Greek fontier.

The Cretan insurgent chiefs have infor.ned the Admirals that they are willing to accept autonomy. The Moslems in Crete are appealing to the Powers for facilities to emigrate from the islands. London, March 12.

The Vienna correspondent of the Times states that the Powers intend to adhera to the programme with regard to the blookade of Crete as the chief means of compelling Greece to withdraw.

According to the Athens correspondent of the Times the Greek Government considers the chief danger to Gi'eece lies in tho situation on the Turkish frontier.
