First Offenders. —Two first offenders, charged with drunkenness, were cautioued and discharged. Pbouibition Orders. —Prohibition orders were granted against Thomas Redwood and William John McKee, both orders to have effect in tho Borough and County. Larceny. — James Ireland was charged with stealing three towels and sundry other small articles, the property of Mrs Kates.—Accused I pleaded guilty.—Accused was further charged with stealing two shirts from Jame& Harris. —Accused pleaded not guilty to this charge,—The same accused was also charged with stealing one shirt, one knife, and one towel, value 7s 6d, the property of Ohiucpiou Stevens.: —Accused said he did not remember anything about it.—This was construed into a plea of not guilty, and Sergeant Gillies proceeded to call evidence in support of the charge. —After hearing the evidence of 0. Stevens, J. Harris, and Constable Emerson in regard to the last two charges, the Bench considered that both cases were proved, and sentenced | accused to two mouths' imprisonment on each charge, sentences to be concurrent.
