Carl Hertz sacred concert at the Academy to-morrow night!
The Rev. J. Mackenzie, who has been visiting South, is expected back at the Thames ou Tuesday. To-morrow morning lie preaches at the Onehunga Church. Tim Hon. Mr Cadmsn spends to-day at Paeroa and to-morrow in Te Aroha. He cones back to Paeroa on Monday, goes on to Waihi, and from thence to Tauranga. Mr McGowau, M.H.R., accompanies the Minister to the latter place. Some minor matters in connection with the recent sports of the Miners Uniou were discussed at a committee meeting last evening, and although there was a proposition to hold an auxiliary gathering on a Saturday afternoon when events intended for Monday would form the programme, there was nothing done in the matter, the opinion beiug that the weather was at present too unsettled for au outdoor gathering. The Ohincmiuri County Council has decided to form aud metal the road to Piike landing, where the Kia Ora steamboat discharges, and also to subsidise a road to beaver Bros., Waitekauri Extended. The criminal sessions of the Auckland Supreme Court will commence on the 9th inst. About forty charges are set down on the calendar for hearing.
