Mr Edwin Edwards will address the lie electors at Kopu this evening.
A wire was received from Mr MeGowan yesterday: "Just returned from Cabbage Bay and Fort Charles. Good success there. Going to Whangapoua to morrow."

Speaking at Kaikora last nitht,^ Captain J-ussell gare an abaolute denial to the Premier's statement that he advocated the introduction of Chinese. He quoted from Hansard to prove he had voted for Sir H. Atkinson's Asiatic Restriction Bill, whereaa Mr Seddon had voted against it. He said it was untrue the Oppoeitioa would repeal the Lands for Settlement Act and Land and Income Tax, if returned to power. Napier, Norember 25. Messrs R. D. A FOEECAST.
At Mr Menteath's meeting to-night, Mr Duthie gave a forecast ol t^a general election. He gathered from reliable sources that the Opposition would secure 18 seats in the North Island, and the Government 14, while in the South Government would return 20 and the Opposition 15, making the Government 34, to the Opposition 33. This was not counting^ ilawera, Manawatu, and Waikouaiti, where, though Prohibitionists, there were two Opposition candidates in each caaeyud votes would be split.
