In view of the forthcoming visit of Australian athletes to New Zealand, it may be interesting to give the performances in which the New South Wales Reps, were picked—Cartright cut out 100 yards in 10|-sec, and made a dead heat for the 440 yards with Masterton, in 54 l-ssec. The latter"* ran the 449 yards hurdles, in 62 3-5 sec, easily beating the existing record for the colony. Taylor, ■who is likely to accompany the team, put up a new record for putting the shot of 41ft 9ins. Masterton covered 20ft 4ins in the long jump.
