TERRIBLE TRAGEDY.
A FATHER MURDERS HIS
FAMILY.

Sydney, June 27. Thos. Brown, a green-grocer at
Bedfern, cut the throat of his three children this morning and then gave t v- himself up. The victims were six, five, and three years of age. Brown's wife recently left him on account of neglect and ill-treatment and since then he has been drinking heavily. It is believed he intended to kill her also.
He gave as the reason for his mad act that it was-to prevent the children suffering. *
