AUCKLAND NOTES.
(By TELEOKAPff.—Own Corrbspokdbnt.) Auckland, This day. A pigeon flying match from Rotorua in connection with the Newton Pigeon Olub's Show took place yesterday. Twenty-five birds were liberated, but only three—Mr Coate's birds—reached home up to 38 minutes past three, and one of Mr Fricker's birda an hour later. They were liberated at 10 o'clock. The Governor's speech is favorably commented upon. V A great deal of Southern money is coming here for investment in mining shares. ° Sir Maurice O'Rorke, though somewhat better in health, is still confined to his room. It is doubtful whether ha will leave fjr Wellington on Mon* day.
