THAMES LIBRARY COMMITTEE.
At .a meeting of the Library Committee leld yesterday there were present—His Worship the Mayor, Messrs Wood, Kenjhaw and Hollis. A letter was read from ;he Borough Council re appointing Dr. 3',Callaghan and Mr Trembath members of ihe Committee. In accordance with .a resolution passed at a former meeting of the Committee agreeing to spend £20 in fche mrchase of new books, the Committee elected a number of new and popular works o the vaiue of £10. These works will now' >c ordered and may be expected at the .library, within a few daj-s: It is the mention of the Committee to .make an effort o raise the £20 outside its ordinary income, nd when this is clone the balance of £10 fill be expended. In the meanwhile, suberibers will have an opportunity^ suggesing books, which they may require, to the librarian for the consideration of the Comiittee in its next selection.
