The fever ia still raging, and a hundred deaths have been recorded daily.
The President is compelling foreign residents to enter the military service. This action has bean resented by the Foreign Consuls, and representations are being made to the President on the matter.
The forts prevented the insurgent warship Republican, with Admiral De Hello on board, from re-entering the Rio hp-rbor.
