At an inquest on Jas. Stevenson, a farmer of Kakahu, who suicided on Monday, a verdict of temporary insanity through, money troubles and drink was returned.
Mrs John Hay, a widow, one of the earliest settlers, died suddenly on Wednesday evening.
A southerly gale struck here afc 9 a.m.
