The Primitive Methodist Conference opened at tbe Cambridge Terrace Church, Chrietohurch, on Thursday at 1' o'clock. The officers worn appointed as follows:—■ Representative of the English Conference. Bey. J. Clover; President, J. Bellrintjer, Esq. (Mayor of Few Plymouth) ; VicePresident, E«v, W. Laycock ; Secretary, Bey. T. 'H". Lyon; Vice Secretary, Est. W. Woollas ; Eraders, Eev. J. Gay and Mr D. Goldie ; Letter Writers. Rev. Mr Eame and Mr O. T. Perkins. J.P. ; Beporters, Eevs. Shnrp and Woodward; Auditors, Messrs Bury ar)d Gibson.

The Church Committee first considered the-trust properties, which proved to be in a highly satisfactory state. Churches have been erected at Denniston and Abbotsford, rcbool-rooms at the Thames and Newton (Auckland), a parsonage at Fielding, and Churches enlarged at Astiburton and Eden Terrace (Auckland). Tbe value of t!se property ia the colony is £28,000.

The Key. J. Clover;presetted tbe opening sermon to a good congregation, after which a SBCiamental service was conducted by the Eevs. Guy and Lyon. On Friday morning at 7 30 a missionary breakfast was held, which was fairly «t----tended, and proved very interesting The Eev. C Word and Mr Booth gave appropriate addresses. ' Most of tho morning and afternoon sessions were occupied by receiving th* various roporta. It wag unanimously decided to open a mission at Westport forthwith.

The report of the Sunday School Com mittee showed that there wss an increase of 6 schools, 21 teachers' 329 scholars, and 261 Band of Hope members.
