The annual election of members of the Thames Drainage Board by the contributing companies is taking place to-duy at the Borough Chambers, fchero bßing sovon mem*, bera to bo elected out of eight nominated. The poll o osea afc 6 o'clock this evening, when the result will bo announced by Mr F. R. GL Woodward, the Re ui'ning Officer. BOROUGH COUNCIL. Ihe Borough Council mot at noon for the purpose of electing a representative on the Board. There were presaut—The Mayor (Mr Konshaw), Ora MoClowiio, Bedford, Camer, and Wilson. . On the motion of Or Raiiforfi. it was unanimously decided to ze°elecfc Or McGrowan as ths Council's representative, it being remarked that he h«d given every oatisfaofcioa to both th&Opuncil and the Bo*rd. A good dnal of dieousnion took plaoe regarding the item of £208 appearing iv the balance-ehcei; of ths Drainage Board for travelling expenses. Bat little exception was takea to the allowanea of £3 Si for actual travelling e^penssa, bat it vac pointed out t&afc when the Auckktsci members attended a mrating held in Auckland, it was UDreascn* able tbut they should charge £1 Is. At the Buggogiion of those present, Cr MoQowiin undertook to bring ths matter under the notice of tho Board. COUNTY COUNCIL.
