WELLINGTON.
This day. A passenger by the Foxton coach, who got in at Foxton yesterday, was found dead last night when the coach arrived in town. From papers found, it is surmised that the deceased is John Wilding, who had been engaged as overseer on the Wellington-Manawatu Kailway. He has a daughter, who is a schoolmistress in Mar ton, and it is believed that he has friends in Oamaru. Wilding was on his way to the Wellington Hospital. The Appeal Court sat this morning and delivered judgments in the Queen v. Buckley (Christchurch.) The conviction was affirmed. In the first ease of Regina v. W. Waring Taylor, the conviction was quashed; in the second case the conviction was upheld, and Taylor will be brought up for sentence at the next criminal sittings of the Supreme Court.
