Ye«teHar. In ♦h«? Runreme Oourfc, before Mr Justice Johnston a civil case between the trustee ''n in th« estate of C. W. Creamer v B. McLebd was heard. A. claim of £36010 8 was made for damages. It was a peculiar action arisinsr ont of insolvency. Creamer, when an insolvent debtor, arranged with the "defendant to advance enough on a bill of sale to pay fen shillings in the £to his credit A cheque for £360 was handed to one Jameson to be transmitted to the trustee of |he debtor. Jameson lodged the 'cheque in the bank to his own aoconnt, sending His own cheque t<v the trustees. On. Reiner presented, Jtmeson's cheque wa«prshonored, and since then Jtmesori left |h# colony. The present action was brought to discover for whom Jtmtyon w(is aetine ;i Creamer alleged that he acted for the defendant, and the defendant maintained that he was actißs; for Creamer. The case is still proceeding. - .. «
\. This day. In the Supreme Court, the case of the trustee in the estate of Creamer y. MeL?od closed hst night, and resulted in a verdict for the defendant. The question of costs was deferred for consideration. H°ybursfc v. Mathews and Fresco*, a case for £395 damages for beaches of covenant in connection with certain lands leased to the defendants by plaintiff, is now proceeding.
