This day. , At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Bifle Association last; night, it was decided to hold the next prize com' petition atDunedin, commencing on Friday, 3rd November. The programme decided on includes four matches for each Champion Belt. The twenty highest aggregate scorers fire a fifth match to decide the championship. The prizes vary from £100 to £120 per match. Five aggregate prizes for each class, £102 10s; £50 with belt. Team matches same as previous years. Five prizes varying from £40 to £5. The Otago ladies' shield match is included in the programme. Yesterday. Mr T. Price's sawmill, near Datefield railway station, was burnt early this morning. There was nothing saved. The engine and machinery are much damaged. The mill has only just started working. The origin of the fire is at present unknown.
