Consols 98-J-, 4| per cent. New Zealand 1879 1904 loan 99, New Zealand wheat ex ship 49. Australian tallow unchanged. Australians v. 18 of Belfast.
- The Australian Cricketers commenced their match to-day at Belfast, against eighteen North of Ireland. The weather was fine. The Home team went in first and scored 100 runs. Spofforth and Palmer both bowled splendidly, the former taking ten, and the latter six wickets. The Australians went in . and were all disposed of for 102, when stumps were drawn.
London, June 15
Colonel Gordon, having failed to obtain permission to go to China, has tendered a resignation of his position in the British service, and goes to China with the object of conducting military operations of the Chinese troops in Kashgar against Russia.
