A fire broke out this morning at Kafton basket-maker's shop, Upper Queen street. The brigade quickly arrired and soon extinguished the fire. It originated in the cellar, and a good deal of stock were burned. The premises were insured for £200 in the Colonial Office.

Advices from Sjdney report that probably Goddefroi's South Sea business will be carried on, and all liabilities will be met.

At a meeting of Cambridge settlers a resolution was carried to push on the branch line ? (probably undor the Bailway District Act.—Ed.)
