This Association is promoted with the object of securing for its members freehold farms in the Waimate Plains (or some other suitable locality) on the uioit faro-able terms and conditions, with a view of supplying to some extent the great and inrrensing demand for small holdings for lona fide settlement. As soen as the block is decided upon, and the preliminaries arranged, it will be surreysd into sections of limited area and apportioned, by lot or otherwise, according to rues to bo agreed upon at a general meeting of the subscribing members of the proposed Association in selections of a minimum ralue of One Hundred Pounds (£100) sterling, and a maximum value of (£400) sterling. The ProTifional Directors will endeavor to induce the Government to grunt to members: of the Association such modifications of the lurid on deferred-payment clauses of tho Land Act. The payments ore to be computed on some wel -defined, liberal, and easily-utiderutood system of deferred payments, to be made by instalments extending over a period of, say not less than ten (10) years. Each" snbscrib- I ing member wi'l be required to deposit a sum equ»l to ten pereentuin of the total value of the share of land he applies for before bis app liration can be entertained, and • further payment of two pprcenlutn per month on said total viiuo until such time as the block to be applied lor is arquired by the Asiociation, ami possession can be given to applicants, or until such time as the Association shall make arrangements with the Government lor allotting land to the subscribers, provided alwnys that such monthly payments of two lercentum do not exU-nd to a further period than six months from date of application. - All monies received are to be paid into the. Colonial Bank of New Zealand to the Association's account, to be opened in the name of the Trustees, on fixed deposit bearing interest, and no withdrawals or payments to be made by cheque against such account without the authority and signature of the > Treasurer, one of the Trustees, and three -Directors being first obtained. Agents, or Acting-Directors, for the Association wi!l also be appointed in all the centres of population throughout the provincial district aa soon as practicable. \ As soon as, in the opinion oftht Provisional Directory, « sufficient number of share* 3 are applied for, a g neral meeting of subscribing members will be called for the pur- < pote of passing and adopting permanent rules and bylaws or articles of Association for the future guidance of the Association, and also for the election of a permanent Board of , Directors and Management.
