OLD SIAM.
The shareholders of this mine still continue to work hopefully. Owing to the country in the drive becoming tight, and the contractors "jibbing on the contract, the shareholders decided to suspend driving and make an attempt to see what was in the flooded shaft, the stories of specimens obtained there years ago having been one of the chief reasons for their taking up the claim. The water has been almost all baled out, the dry weather facilitating operations and two drives on leaders have been discovered. One of these runs towards the Telegraph ground, and the other in an opposite direction. The shareholders of this claim certainly deserve success; they have worked the ground for 12 months without any remuneration, and spent close on £700 between them to boot.
