Extraordinary Cure of an Auckland Omnibus Driver, 21 years Resident, of Long-standing Rheumatism. Auckxakd, August 20, 1878. Dear Sir, —I had suffered severely and most acutely from Rheumatism for many years, brought on, I believe, from exposure to all weatlicru in the exercise of my calling. For years I could not sleep at night, and was unable to lie except in ono position. Day and night I was full of excruciating pains, scarcely able to move übout at all, and as a natural sequence my general health was also materially injured. I believe I suffered the pangs of Rheumatism and its attendant evils in every shape and form, and my life was a burden to me. I tried every remedy I could hear of, but without obtaining any relief whatever. The Bum I spent in medicine and medical advice was very considerable, but of no avail, until 1 invested in a bottle of your Blood Restorer. 1 may say that I was not hopeful at all when I purchased your medicine; I had tried so many specifics without receiving the slightest benefit, but having determined to give it a fair trial I carried out my intention. I adhered strictly to the directions, and the result is that I am changed from a mere wreck to my former self again—restored to health and vigor, and able to drive daily through all weathers, and at all hours, if occasion re. quires. I am sure you have nevsr had a worse case to deal with than mine, and although even now, in bad weather, I feel my limbs rather stiff, after sitting on the box for a long time, 1 am a living example of the almost miraculous curative properties, (under Providence) of your now celebrated Blood Restorer. My friends tell me it is a duty I owe to my fellow creatures to send you this acknowledgement, and if it is the means of persuading other sufferers to go and do likewise, I shall feel that this letter is not written : in vain. I have the more pleasure in giving this testimonial as it is quite unsolicited on your part. You are at liberty, of course, to make any use of this. —I am, sir, yours gratefully, Henkt Maiden. To H. E._Hitchens, Esq., Auckland. Agent for the Thames— GEOEGrE DENBY, Bbown Stbeet, GrRAHAMSTOWN. 82 NOTICE. PUKE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTEACT. Wo are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in fhe trade instead of our Eucalyptus Extract. So far us the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned the consequences would not bo serious; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the attention of the public to the following fucts:— The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as v medicament in ca6es of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicament must increase isflumnnition, and it- is therefore evident that in cußes of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, Bpruine, &c, the curative power of our extract ou the named diseases being unquestionably |proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of> our extract muet impair the disease The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that tlie oil is a resinous product, equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being übout three shillings one pound weight; our extracts consists of the ev»poiatirif; particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its^eifects, its price being twentyfour. shillings for one pound weight.
