The mine manager's weekly report wti as follows:—" I bare the honor to report as follows: Point Bussell section.—la driving east the reef shows no improve* ment, and after a few more feet I shall crosscut north to intersect the specimen leader. Main tunnel.—The country it rather tighter than it has been for some time, and is also of a more goldbearing character. 28 feet has been driven this week. The winze sinking on No. 9 reef below 150 level is down 53 feet, and bas intersected upper slide at this depth. In about three days communication will be effected with 218-feet level. The reef in this winze is well defined, and averages three feet thick. 80-feet level.—For the last two months the drive west »n No. 2 reef has been suspended. We have now cut through a small slide an^-jicked «p the reef again on the west (TOe, but hay» ing only just cut into it, I cannot yet speak as to its value. The general crushing shows no improvement over last fortnight. We have had a little trouble with the sea boxes which supply the reservoir, they having fallen in at the shore end. A day or two will put all right again.—l am, Bobebt Comeb." A trial crushing for Hayes and party yielded 15dwts gold:
