KAITANGATA.
Saturday.
One body was got this morning, and proved to be that of a man named Spiers. Thirty-two bodies in all have been discovered, and two are still in the mine. The search is being continued. Mr Carew, E.JVI., is here to hold the inquest, and coffins are being made and graves dug. Wailing and distress are heard everywhere throughout the district. The inquest was held by Mr Carew, R.M., and a jury, at 12.30 to-day, at the Bridge Hotel, where the bodies lay. After the jury had returned from viewing the bodies, Thomas Knowles, Joseph Robertson, John McDonald, and David Dunn identified them, and the inquest was adjourned till Monday. The funeral takes place tomorrow afternoon. It is expected that a special train will be run from Dunedin, Lawrence, and Balclutha,
