NEW APPLICATION J?oi WKW HOUSBi B.S. Brown, Belvidere Hotel, Short, land (Dr Perston's late'residence). Mr Brassey appeared for several objectors. He said a memorial had been filed, but he did not go on that, as 7 days' notice of it had not been given to applicant. He simply appeared on the ground that the house was not required. Mr Hammond, one of the objectors, said he had with him a memorial signed by 35 persons residing near the proposed hotel, lie had not given the seven days' notice. < The police report stated that it was questionable if -the hotel was required.' The Bench connidered the house" unnecessary, and refused the application.
