SeveDty-five cases were set down for hearing at the R.M. Court this morning.
There are twenty.five applications for the post of librarian of the Dunedin Athenaeum.
John Sperry has been appointed land Tax Commissioner at a salary of £700 a year, and E. B. Martin, Government auctioneer, has been appointed Deputy Land Commissioner for Otago.
Tuesday. The Times states that Taiaroa is to be called to the Upper House, and that several candidates will contest the vacancy for the House of Representatives.
Colonel Whitmore inspected the Dune* din police, and complimented them ou their appearance and efficiency.
