■ London, September 23. The British mission to Cabul left Peshawar oa Saturday. The Ameer's commanding officer at Kyber Pass forcibly prevented the mission proceeding, and it returned to Peshawar. The situation is considered serious. A portion of the garrison at Cyprus has been withdrawn, owing to sickness.
