COUNTY COUNCIL.
SPECIAL MEETING EE BEPBESENTATION.
A special meeting of the Council was held this afternoon re the representation: of the County. There were.present—Crs Bt'odie (Chairman), Bagnall, Thorburn and Coutts. The following resolutions were unanimously adopted without much discussion:— : "I propose at this special meeting the Council of the Thames County do adopt a resolution that the northern boundary of the UhinetniTi Hiding in the Thames
I nimly hti altered from its present site so that it shall start fvom the ocen on the E-st Copst at a point on the proper right bank of the Otahu. river, and thence extend up the said bank to the head of the said river; ihence in a straight line to the head of the nearest source of the Hikutaia river; ■('n'lit'e down the proper left bank of the fa\d Hikutaia river to its junction.with the Waihou river; thence in a line due west *o the boundary l'ne between the; Thames County and the Waikato County; mid mrtber, that the number of ridings vi the said County be increased from five to s'x by the cieation of a tew riding fo be <;alled the To tar.,, riding, and that such; # new-rid'Dg be now created, and that the site tfjreof should be so much of the' Hastings riding in the e:'drCpuniy as lieretofore existing as is, drained by the Kauaeranga liver, and also s> much of the said Ohinemuri riding in the said County as here' "ore existing will' be taken out of the same riding by the alteration of the boundary thereof hereinbefore mentioned, and that the boundary of the,said Hastings riding shall be so altered as to make it adjoin the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Totai a riding.*' . ; ... • "I.propose that at this special meeting the Thames County Council do adopt a resolution that the number of members of this Council should be nine instead of seven as heietofore ; and that the number of Councillors o be elected by the electors of the Kauaeranga R'ding in the said County sha 11 be. two instead of one, and that .the electors of the said Totara Biding shall elect to this Council one member." i "That a special meeting of the Council be held, on the 25th October,•',for the purpose of confirming the foregoing resolutions." . :'.":; ■'' < . ■ Ibis was all the business..
