Clifford's Mirror of the 'World.

Considering the rather unpleasant weather there was a pretty good attendance at the Academy of Music last evening to witness the first exhibition of this instructive and entertaining show. The first part of the entertainment consisted of the exhibition of a number of views of London, the Jpowcrful lantern showing them in a most wonderfully clear and distinct manner. The realistic appearance of these pictures was greatly appreciated by the audience in general, and by such of them as were Londoners in particular. Amongst the finest views were those of St. Paul's, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, the Monument, and other scenes dear to the heart of every Londoner, and indeed to every Briton. An amusing series of pictures, representing the " lieward of Ingratitude," took immensely with the younger portion of the audience, and they are certainly the best of the kind we have seen. Some excellent photographs of statuary were also exhibited. The performance was concluded by the exhibition of the optical illusion the "Dancing Skeleton," which must be seen to be appreciated. We can heartily recommend this pleasing entertainment to the patronage of every one, and especially to parents who desire to give their children a treat. The audience last night was enthusiastic in its applause, and we expect to see a bumper house tonight, when ." bonnie Scotland" will be travelled through by the aid of the lime light.
