IT is hereby notified, that, after the Ist of January nexti the use of Impressed Stamps upon Transfers of Shares is compulsory, but transfers of shares may b§ stamped at a Stamp Office by the Commissioner or v Deputy Commissioner within one month after execution without a fine. Managers and Secretaries of Companies, Sharebrokers, and. others interested, are recommended to forward, without delay, such forms of transfer as they may require to be itnprensed, accompanied by tho ueuai requisition and receipt from the Bank of New Zealand for amcunt thereof, less the authorized discount. Information may be obtained at any Stamp Office. The provisions of the Act relating hereto are as follow:—

"47. (1.) Except whire express provision is made to the contrary, b!1 duties are to be denoted by impreseed stumps only." " 102. No instrument of sale or transfer.of any share cr shares shall be valid, either at law or in equity, unless the name of the pur-, .chaser or transferee is insetted therein at the time of or before the execution of the instrument of sale or transfer ; and, if any pereon executes a gale-note, transfer, contract-note, or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, unless the name of the purchaser ia inserted therein at the time or before the execution thereof, ho shall forfeit a sum of not less than £20 or moro than £100; and, if any such instrument is no made or signed, it shall bo wholly and absolutely void and inoperative, and ahull in no case be made available by the insertion of a namo or any other particulars ufter\vurd3 ; and the person selling or transferring such share shall not be divested of his interest therein, but shall remain liable thereon as if he had never sold or disposed of the same. And if such person is a licensed ! sharebroker, his license shall, on any conviction under this section, ba absolutely forfeited, and* he shall not thereafter be qualified j to uct bb a broker, or to have a fresh license issued to him. " 104. No sharebroker, auctioneer, commission agent, or any other person shall be entitled to any brokerage, commiasion, or any other f«e or reward ici respect of the s*le j or transfer of any such share, unless the instrument of sale or transfer is filled up with all necessary particulars to make it a complete instrument, and is duly stamped. j SCHEDULE.
