A public meeting took place last night at.the Township. It was well attended.!
A contract for a foot bridge over the main creek has been let. If the Government would supplement the amount, which they "ought to do, we could havo a very good bridge; it's to be built in a. suitable place for the convenience of foot passengers to the Tairua goldfield.
There is nothing new in mining affairs. Politically—■ Should James Mackay.come forward in the coming contest, he will be well supported, '
It's to be hoped that Major Keddell will pay a visit to the Tairua Goldfield and appoint a place for a polling booth. ;_
