LONG DRIVE.

The resources of this mine have again proved satisfactory, the yield on the month's crushing being 299 ounces 14 dwts. melted gold. The stone has been obtained from all sources; in the endeavour to prosecute the works below the tunnel level, the gas has been an obstacle which will take some time to remove* This however will be accomplished by continuing the shaft already down some distance near the mouth of the tunnel, but owing to the wretched weather for outside operations it has had to be postponed for the present. By sinking, and driving, connection will be made with the Long Drive shaft and enable a large area of profitable ground to be worked shortly.
