THAMES GOLDFIELD HOSPITAL.

There were, present at the usual monthly meeting of the General Committee held yesterday afternoon, Mr Wm. Rowe, President; Rev. J. Crump, and Messrs Renshaw, Brown, Bagnall, Macnab, Gudgeon, Sims, McCullough, Cox, Mclihone, Wilkinson, Corner^and Johns.

Liabilities. —To salaries, £53 4s 6d; general monthly account, £71 7s 9d— total, £124 12s 3d. Assets:—By cash balance, £4 6s 6d; bank balance, £6412 2d; Provincial Government, £83 6s Bd— total, £152 5s 4d. Less liabilities, £124 12s 3d—£27 13s Id.

la reply to a question from Mr Mo Cullougb, Mr Eenshaw said, that although the sum of £83 6s 8d was placed as an asset it had not been received from the Provincial Government, as the subsidy was only paid quarterly, but he had seen the manager of the Bank who would allow the necessary overdraft. It was expected that the result of the intended demonstration would nearly pay back the overdraft, so that the subsidy when received would be to their credit.

The House Surgeon's report was read j as follows :—" To the Committee of the | Thames'Goldfield Hospital. Gentlemen, —The state of your hospital during the past month (October) has been as follows :—Remaining 30th September, 18 ; admitted during the month, 18; discharged, 18 ; remaining 31st October, 18; average daily sick, 20; number of outpatients, 126. There has been a noticeable absence of mining accidents during the month. The institution has sustained a loss in the resignation of Miss Morris, the nurse in charge of the female department.—l hare, &c, AtEx^Np:^ Fox, As no applications had been received for the office of female nurse the time was extended for application until the next monthly meeting.
