PRINCE IMPERIAL.
The ground pertaining to this company has not been wrought for several months, but upon it considerable expense has been laid, and crushings obtained that at one time promised well. These are on the ground, engine and. winding gear, poppet heads, &c, all the necessary requirements for progress with drives upon leaders in several directions. The shaft hds been sunk 270 feet and chamber cut out with a drive 30 feet long in the west side; beyond this, there is nothing done to develope the low level; the directory have now let for a period of 15 months, a portion of the mine from the present bottom to sill of shaft level, from the eastern boundary to 60 feet west of shaft or seaward by the length of claim north and south to tributers Whitley and party, who will occupy the ground at once, and drive from* shaft both ways, and expect before long to strike the under lay of the Mariners' reef which in early days secured its shareholders a long run of prosperity.
