CITY OF LONDON.

Operations in this mino are as usual pushed on with vigour ; stoping on No. 4 lode from the 350 feet level supplies con-, eiderable quantity of stone, and several leaders and veins on the foot wall side are of good quality, showing gold, but necessitating the breaking down of large masses, and consequently, sorting the quartz from muilocV, detracts from its value. On the bottom or 420 feet, stoping on the cross lode, supplies large amount, principally towards the boundary of the Queen of Beauty, up to which they have penetrated with the drive. The cro3S-cut on the boundary line is now in 32 feet, and close home to No. 1 reef, which in all probability will be found to extend through the length of the company's ground. This reef has been cut out by the Queen of Beauty, and presents where they have left it on the boundary a well defined large body of crushing stuff, the value of which however must be determined by the stamper process. As this lode has not been worked from the 350 feet level, there is fully 140 feet of backs to take out. The manager Mr Hicks will take the earliest opportunity of testing a large parcel with a view to extensive operations.
